What does it mean for women to labor on behalf of men? Why do we allow this to continue? I know in my personal life I still need to do more work to carry an equal burden and that is itself only a small piece of the fight to dismantle patriarchy. Women are beaten downassaultedharassed, and when they seek mental and physical treatment for this never mind regular disease not caused by these factorsthey are ignored and belittled. It only makes sense that rape and domestic violence are vastly underreported.

Women rightly generalize us men as garbage because far too many men are the problem and are not actively committed towards the solution—dismantling the structures that exploit women to benefit men.

These women recognized and interrogated how working folks who go unpaid are the foundation of capitalism as we know it today—thus patriarchy, and its toxic mentality of misogyny, serve as functions of it in order to keep women oppressed.

In spite of this, I still believe that Marxist-feminism is the best way for men especially cis men to unlearn our individual and collective entitlement to the time and space of women in our lives.

Masculinity under patriarchal capitalism is ingrained into us all our lives, and we are taught toxic behaviors and those behaviors are enforced with societal rewards. If women are to be free, men will need to divest from the power society unjustly gives us. Stop and be silent. Be better men. Dismantle patriarchy. Welcome back. None of them are sociologists, psychologists, or relationship experts. Instead, I wanted to compile a list of ten things that men wished women knew.

A list that would bridge the gap between men and women. In that spirit, we began our discussion. As I sat and talked with the guys, most of their answers kept coming back to the ten areas explained below. But not all men are that way. Most men simply just want some room to be by themselves. From time to time, men want to get away and be alone or hang out with their friends.

On the other hand, jealous and possessive women are well known for their deliberate attempts to prevent a man from having any sort of privacy. Those are the women who think letting a man out of their sight is a mistake.

They keep choke holds on their men and eventually drive them away. Now she goes to bed with a head full of rollers and a face covered with Noxzema. When they were dating, she batted her eyes, spoke softly, and always looked sexy.

The gently batting eyes and shy smiles have been replaced with frowns, pursed lips, and shrill tones. No more sexy clothes. But what about when it goes far beyond that?

10 Things Women Do That Drive Men Away

They also want a Lexus, a two-story home in the suburbs, and a string of credit cards. But counting the blessings you already have never hurts either.

In fact, we often have difficulty just figuring out what women mean with the words they speak. I think women are far more sophisticated communicators than men; they seem to be more adept at the subtleties of gestures, facial expressions, and body language. Therefore, men and women almost always suffer from communication breakdowns in relationships. Unfortunately, some women do not express themselves honestly and openly. It seems that they are more apt to use voice inflections and body language to communicate what they mean, even when the actual words they are saying convey the opposite.

Women expect the men in their lives to read their nonverbal cues. Some men fail to read the nonverbal cues of the women in their lives. When this happens, an argument is almost always the result, because the woman feels that she communicated her feelings to the man and he ignored her. When that man comes home from his night out with the guys, his wife is going to be angry at him. She expected him to read the nonverbal cues and he totally missed them.

As a result, the woman believes that the man is just being callous and self-centered. Both of them will go to bed angry.

But for most people, sex is a big part of a relationship. Bad sex: Sex is a learned skill. Basically, anyone can do it. Some are good at it. And others are experts. But everyone has an idea of what they consider good and bad sex. Common complaints among men are: lack of enthusiasm, lack of rhythm, no creativity, and poor technique.Bye pic. Absolutely not. It is often in this pain that we reach out to our female counterparts, who through their past hurts are quick to reaffirm the notion that all men are trash. Recently I have found myself constantly in the presence of kindhearted, God fearing men. Are they trash? And it is through this exposure that I have learnt how to filter out trashy men.

I actually had a conversation with myself and came up with following. I know right? Cause this girl just had herself an Aha!

It is unfair of us to take what other men have done to us and project it on those who are innocent. Who deserve a chance to show love and trust does exist. I have been on both ends of the table here but the example I want to give is of an ex boyfriend who was cheated on in his relationship prior to ours.

When we started dating I thought everything was great, as we all do, but a month into it his insecurites and past hurt was shown, he would question what I was doing, who I was with, if I said something she did he was alarmed, etc.

Image: Prospect Composite. Meanwhile, women on social media use the phrase to respond to everything from rude comments about their appearances to online abuse. What does the generalisation mean, and can we justify its use?

News of two mass shootings in the US rolled in as I drafted this article. Grimly, I predicted that white supremacy would be implicated, but I had taken it as given that the killers would be men. They were. The recent attacks bring the US total for the last thirty-seven years to In the UK, 50 per cent of murdered women are killed by a partner or ex-partner compared to 3 per cent of murdered menamounting to two women every week.

In South Africawhere the Menaretrash hashtag first went viral, a woman is murdered every four hours. The harmful effects of masculinity also manifest in less extreme cases, too. Only 3 per cent of UK adults associate masculinity with kindness or care, and just 1 per cent with respectfulness, supportiveness, and honesty. More than half of young men feel they must not ask for emotional support even in times of need, and two-thirds feel compelled to display hyper-masculine behaviours.

Little wonder that masculinity is now rarely seen without its adjectives: toxic and fragile. Men are hurting and killing women, other menand themselves. Is it reasonable to conclude that men are trash? Sex refers to differences in chromosomes, genitals, hormones, and secondary sexual characteristics, while gender is a feature of our social world, a social construct that assigns certain roles, behaviours, and clothing are mandated for some and forbids them to others.

Going off script is strictly punished by exclusion, derision, and violence. While nothing about a male body makes it harder for a man to cry, men are less likely to cry than women and more likely to be judged for it. Yet there are some signs that society is changing.

When people say that men are trash, it may be helpful to take the statement to mean that those who are gendered as men are trash.

But surely not all men are trash? This objection is as illuminating as it is common.

Here's Why Women Really Say "Men Are Trash"

In this way, generics can act as warnings. When I cross cities alone at night or run in areas where my shouts might not be heard, I wear headphones to avoid verbal harassment. But when I sense that the risk of physical assault looms, I remove them. Though the phrase has a range of uses, from serious retaliations by those who have been wronged by men to light-hearted invectives, its hashtag collects these incidents in a constellation of online solidarity which serves as a case against harmful masculinity.

It can also act as an expression of sympathy or validation. Not everyone will accept these arguments, but to the men who claim not to be trash and resent the generalisation: what are you doing to stop the men around you from trashing your reputation?

Are you calling out misogyny when you hear it? Are you raising your sons to be sensitive to the needs of others? Are you offering compassion to the other men in your life? Forgotten password? I've been looking for Mr. Right since I was 26 and there's one little problem I keep running into: There are no Mr.

Rights lining up to marry me! I know I'm not alone here, because I've seen plenty of articles on the Internet about women just like me having the same problem. I really don't know what's wrong with me, and why men aren't more interested in me. I'll admit I've made some mistakes.

Like most women of my generation, I grew up being taught that I could do anything I wanted, and that there'd never be consequences for my actions. I was always taught that I deserved the world, and that my entire life would fall into perfect harmony any time I wanted it to, including marriage, promptly by the age of You see, being taught these notions as a little girl, I decided to do what most of my girlfriends did: once I got out of high school, I spent the next ten years "finding myself" by spending all of my free time chain-smoking cigarettes and getting drunk in bars and clubs.

There were many men I got involved with during this period of my life. None of them were the wholeseome kind of men you could build a life with, but I didn't care.

I wanted action. I wanted excitement and drama. I knew those men never cared about me and only wanted sex, but I gave it to them anyway. Some of them hit me, and a few smashed in my car windows, but whatever.

I've been with over fifty men, not counting the ones I just fooled around with. Is this hurting my chance to find true love? There were a few really great men who came into and out of my life during this period, usually from outside the bar scene. They were men who really cared about me, who were concerned for my well being, and who did the little special things to let me know they cared, but I ignored them. I did, I'll admit it. Every man who came into my life who displayed these positive traits - the kind of traits that could have led to stability and happiness - I rejected.

I found them boring. Honestly, I was having too much fun with my lifestyle to ever take notice of the men who actually treated me like a human being. I was addicted to promiscuous sex with bad boys who never loved me. Most of my girlfriends were the same way. Why settle for a good man before you have to, right?!
